ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Shawn Smart, with the local mentorship program “My Daddy Taught Me That,” is looking back at the lives of Lamarius Jones and Marquis Davis, who, according to the program’s owner, were the two victims killed in the Asheville shooting on Sunday, July 19, that left seven others injured.
“It was just disbelief,” said friend and MDTMT community health worker Shawn Smart, “I actually was with two of the other victims’ mothers as we were driving back trying to get to the hospital.”
The Asheville Police Department previously informed News 13 that the injured victims were taken to Mission Hospital.
