ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The man at the center of an investigation into the remains of a child found in Illinois was wanted by police for parental kidnapping a year before his arrest last month, documents obtained by First Alert 4 Investigates show.
Ronnell M. Jones, 32, was charged last month with parental kidnapping in St. Francois County. On July 8, police found the remains of a child in a wooded area in St. Clair County, Illinois, following a tip they received during their investigation into Jones. The coroner told First Alert 4 on Tuesday that the child’s remains have not yet been identified.
Jones’ child was first reported missing to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) by the child’s mother in 2024. During a press conference by SLMPD, they said they had a person of interest in the missing child case in 2025, but could not release the name…
