Some CNY Schools Starting Before Labor Day This Year
For many families, Labor Day weekend means one last summer getaway, one more trip to the beach, and one final chance to sleep in before school starts.
This year, some students will be heading back to class before the holiday.
Madison-Oneida BOCES component districts will begin the school year on Thursday, September 3, before the Labor Day holiday on September 7. Those districts include:
- Camden
- Canastota
- Hamilton
- Madison
- Rome
- Stockbridge Valley
- Vernon-Verona-Sherrill
Other school districts starting before Labor Day are New Hartford, Oriskany, Utica, New York Mills, Whitesboro, Clinton, and Yorkville, along with several Syracuse and Central Schools.
