ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Saint Louis University is listed as one of five universities being investigated for racial discrimination in admissions, according to a release by the Department of Education on Wednesday.
A release by the Department of Education on Wednesday states that, through its Office for Civil Rights, a new investigation has been launched into five medical universities. The release alleges that the schools violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI), which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin.
The schools under investigation are:
- Dartmouth College Geisel School of Medicine;
- East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine;
- Saint Louis University School of Medicine;
- Western University of Health Sciences; and
- William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
