Solar panels on city hall? This Wichita suburb is considering it

One Wichita suburb is considering installing solar panels on three city buildings in order to cut electricity costs.

Haysville is looking at solar panels for its city hall, police department and the city’s activity center — three buildings that were selected with the help of professionals.

The preliminary total cost for installation is estimated to be $143,550 for city hall, $169,690 for the police department and $317,768 for the activity center, according to numbers presented by City Administrator Will Black at July’s City Council meeting.
