Tracking heavy PM rainfall, heightened flash flood concern

TODAY: We’re tracking scattered showers and thunderstorms across the Pikes Peak Region this afternoon and evening bringing periods of heavy rainfall. Our biggest concerns are localized flash flooding (especially along burn scars) and erratic, gusty winds up to 50 MPH. We cool a few degrees with highs in the high 80s in Colorado Springs and mid 90s in Pueblo.

EXTENDED: Precipitation chances drop slightly from Friday through the weekend, but you can still expect some PM showers and storms bringing gusty winds and isolated instances of flash flooding. Highs stay fairly consistent through Saturday in the high 80s/low 90s in the Springs and mid to high 90s in Pueblo. We warm up a few degrees Sunday and Monday to the high 90s in Colorado Springs and triple digits in Pueblo!
