WILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Schenectady man has been arrested after allegedly stealing from Target in Wilton. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the active larceny call just after 5 p.m. on Monday.
An investigation into the complaint led to the arrest of 64-year-old Sheldon Generette. He is accused of stealing merchandise and impersonating another person when deputies initially encountered him. According to the sheriff’s office, he subsequently signed that person’s name on an official electronic booking document.

Generette was charged with forgery in the second degree, petit larceny and criminal impersonation in the second degree. He was arraigned in Wilton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
