STERLING, Va (7News) — The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors is getting a flood of complaints from residents who are fed up about data center noise and generator fumes.
A recent power failure on July 16 forced the Vantage Data Centers Ashburn II campus along Glenn Drive in Sterling to switch over to auxiliary power. That power is supplied by diesel generators on the 18-acre campus, which houses three data centers.
Neighbors describe a constant hum at all hours of the day, but said the generators made things even louder and caused the area to get choked in fumes…
