Another Orange County City Takes a Hard Look at Abandoned Buildings

Stanton is doubling down enforcement on vacant properties around the city, boosting registration fees to nearly $10,000 annually for what city officials classify as problematic abandoned buildings.

Officials are also mandating that certain properties institute a manager to overlook maintenance in an effort to prevent the buildings from becoming squat houses for homeless people.
