Barber Center officials cut the ribbon on new partial hospitalization building

Thursday, the Barber National Institute began a new chapter, opening the doors to a new center providing youth mental health services.

The Children’s Acute Partial Hospitalization Program’s new location in the 1300 block of Sassafras Street was introduced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon.

The program addresses behavioral health needs for children in our region, providing short-term hospitalization and treatment for children and adolescents struggling with mental health.

Project leaders said the organization is increasing its focus on children with intellectual disabilities and autism, fulfilling their mission of making dreams come true for people of all abilities.
