MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Tropical Storm Bertha is moving west and away from our area, but elevated rain chances will continue to hang around all the way through the weekend. Even if you don’t see rain every day, increased cloud cover will likely keep afternoon highs just below seasonable values. Soak up the better rain chances and slightly cooler air while it’s here, though. Some of the hottest air we’ve seen so far this summer is likely waiting for us early next week.

While Bertha’s influence on our weather starts to fade, our rain chances don’t change very much from the start of the week to today. Yet another round of scattered showers and a few thunderstorms is expected to develop across portions of the region later this afternoon. We’ll see partly cloudy skies elsewhere with highs warming back up into the lower and middle 90s. Rain comes to an end, but some scattered clouds stick around tonight with lows in the middle 70s…
