(FOX40.COM) — Placer County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 41-year-old Sacramento man who traveled to meet what he thought to be a 13-year-old girl, officials announced on Thursday.
According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office’s social media, Lloyd Cecil Gary Jr. traveled to West Roseville on July 20 to meet a supposed young teenage girl that he had been chatting with online. Upon his arrival at the meeting location, deputies moved in and arrested Gary.
Officials say that he “told the teen he wanted to engage in sexual relations with the child and requested nude images of her” and “instructed her to disable the tracking services on her phone” before the planned meetup.
When officers searched Gary’s vehicle after his arrest, they found that he had brought alcohol and marijuana to the meeting. He also tried to destroy evidence by smashing his cell phone, which officials said was likely unsuccessful.
Gary has an “extensive” criminal history according to officials, one that includes felony convictions for illegal firearm possession, pimping and pandering, trafficking a minor and narcotics offenses, as well as previously being required to register as a sex offender…
