Cedar Rapids Man Gets Suspended Prison Term In Jasper County For Felony Drug Possession

A Cedar Rapids man caught with marijuana during a traffic stop for speeding on Highway 163 in Prairie City has been given a suspended 15-year prison sentence. District Court Judge Terry Rickers has also placed Darnell Malik Henderson on three years of probation, and fined him $1,025. He pleaded guilty to a class D felony charge of 3rd or subsequent offense possession of a controlled substance.

Court documents state a Prairie City Police Officer stopped Henderson for speeding around 2:30 p.m. on March 3rd of this year. The officer noticed an odor of marijuana in the vehicle, and Henderson allegedly turned over a container of raw marijuana he had in the center console…
