New app launched by Arkansas DHS hopes to lower EBT fraud

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas Department of Human Services said a new app and system changes will give SNAP recipients more tools to securely manage their benefits and help protect their accounts from fraud beginning Monday.

DHS Director of the Division of County Operations Mary Franklin said in a Thursday news conference that the new ebtEDGE New app is part of the state’s transition to a new vendor for SNAP EBT card services. The free app is available for download now, and Arkansas SNAP recipients will be able to link their accounts and begin managing their benefits through the platform starting Monday, July 27.
