SHERWOOD, Ark. — The Sherwood Police Department is warning residents about a scam involving a former local business after its website was reportedly taken over by someone falsely claiming to represent the company.
Police said Wayne’s World Auto Sales is no longer an active business. However, the dealership’s website has been taken over by an individual or group attempting to scam potential victims by posing as representatives of the former business.
Authorities urged anyone who has been contacted by someone claiming to be from Wayne’s World Auto Sales not to send money or provide personal or financial information.
