BPD: Armed suspect killed after confrontation with police in South Boise

Boise Police say a person is dead after two officers fired their weapons near a canal in the area of Cloverdale and Overland Road.

It happened around 10:00 a.m. but Cloverdale Rd. remains closed to traffic just north of the Overland intersection as police begin their investigation.

In a press conference Thursday afternoon, Boise Police say they first got a 911 call from a person who told dispatch he was planning to commit suicide. Once he shared his location, police put a nearby gas station on lockdown and responded to the scene.
