‘Treasure’ puppy abandoned near Henderson dumpster released from hospital

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Treasure, the puppy found abandoned near a dumpster with broken bones and rocks in his stomach, was released from the animal hospital on Thursday.

“He is ready to come home,” Amy Clatterbuck of Hearts Alive Village said. “And start his next chapter.”

The dog was treated over the weekend for a dangerously high fever, according to veterinarians, and then received surgery for two broken legs this week.

Treasure also had previous injuries that appear to be from abuse, along with a broken jaw, rocks in his stomach, and other signs of malnutrition.

“He is doing really great now,” Gina Turner, Regional Director of Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center, told 8 News Now. “But when he came in, it was a very, very sad situation.”…
