YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP – A 45-year-old man was taken into custody on Thursday after an incident the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is calling a “domestic kidnapping.”
Deputies were dispatched to the area of Seaver Drive near Joe Hall Drive in Ypsilanti Township around 4 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from the man’s girlfriend, who said he was refusing to let her out of the vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers located the 42-year-old woman in the front passenger seat and observed the man preventing her from getting out of the car. Deputies determined the situation to be an active kidnapping and tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the man fled in the vehicle, leading to a police pursuit…
