Lackawanna couple admits to animal cruelty

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A couple from Lackawanna pleaded guilty to an animal cruelty charge on Thursday, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said.

Officials said 42-year-old Stephen Andres and 44-year-old Tara Andres pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated cruelty to animals.

In February, Stephen called the SPCA Serving Erie County requesting assistance to pick up his deceased dog, authorities said. When SPCA officers responded to his home in Lackawanna, they said the dog, named Bones, had appeared “emaciated, neglected and subjected to unsanitary conditions.” Bones was about 10 months old…
