July 24, 2026 – Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on late Thursday evening Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office
deputies and Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office deputies continued searching the lake. At approximately 3:45 p.m., Calaveras County deputies located human remains in the water using their Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV).
The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Amador County Sheriff’s Office and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office in recovering the remains.
The deceased has been identified as 59-year-old Lydia Vanolden of Modesto, CA. Next of kin has been notified…
