GRAFTON – An innovative new device that will expand access is coming to Grafton.
The Recreation Department, under the leadership of Adam Lapointe, has secured a SMILE Mass grant to purchase a “water wheelchair.” The device will allow disabled folks access to the waters of Silver Lake Beach, whereas before their enjoyment may have been limited to the sand.
“One of my pillars coming here was that I wanted to build more inclusivity and accessibility into our programs and services. Part of it was looking for grants for opportunities as well. That’s where this came out of,” Lapointe told the Community Advocate…
