DHS deports woman allegedly involved in deadly mass shooting in Chicago

CHICAGO (WGN) – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has deported a woman who they said was involved in a deadly mass shooting in Chicago back in 2024.

On Thursday evening, officials posted a picture of Giovanna Occhipinti who they said is from Venezuela and a former teacher.

DHS said she was arrested and released last year, adding that Cook County would not move forward with her case.
