AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — As students prepare for school to start next month, this list of events can help kids gather supplies and other needs before they return to campus.
This list features events that will provide free sports physicals, haircuts, hairstyles, food, backpacks, clothes and shoes, hygiene products, as well as fun activities.

Saturday, Aug. 1
- Clean Start: Back to School Hygiene Fair – Health services, Addiction Tattoo Studio
This is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or until supplies run out at Sam Houston Park. This giveaway can help supply students with important hygiene products, including shampoo, conditioner, deodorants, body wash, and toothpaste.

- Back to School Clothing Giveaway and Free Haircuts – Southwest Church of Christ
Saturday, Aug. 8
- Faith & Blue Back-to-School Event – Amarillo Civic Center
This back-to-school event features school supplies, backpacks, haircuts, immunizations, games, sports physical appointments and community resources.
- Zae’s Hope Backpack & School Supply Giveaway and Community Car Show – Central Church of Christ

Saturday, Aug. 15
- Back to School Bash Health Fair – Triumph Church Ministries
On Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4100 Republic Avenue for fun, food, music and games.
- Back to School Backpack & Supplies Giveaway – Mazda Amarillo
On Saturday, from 10 a.m. until supplies last at 4401 Georgia Street for free haircuts, free hairstyles for girls, live music, face paint and more.
Sunday, Aug. 16
- 8th Annual Barrio Bash & School Supply Drive – Back To School Barrio Bash Horseshoe Tournament & School Supply Drive
On Sunday, the event is set to begin at 1 p.m. at El Alamo Park. Haircuts will start at noon, hot dogs will be served around 1:15 p.m. until supplies run out, and backpack/school supply distribution will begin at 2 p.m. while supplies last.
This event will also feature hygiene bags, food, games, bounce houses, a horseshoe tournament, and scholarships, but children must be present for backpack distribution.
