JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – As animal shelters in the Jackson-metro area continue to fill beyond capacity, concerns are growing over the lack of animal control in the capital city. Local shelters said they’re being pushed to the limit as more stray and surrendered animals arrive each day.
The Mississippi Animal Rescue League (MARL) said summer is one of the busiest times of the year, with breeding season leading to a surge in puppies and kittens.
