‘I Was Being Held Against My Will’: DeKalb Woman Sues Nordstrom After Alleged False Shoplifting Accusation and Detention

A DeKalb Countywoman has filed a lawsuit against luxuryretailerNordstrom, alleging she was wrongfully detained, physically pushed and falsely accused of shoplifting during what she says was a routineshopping trip to prepare for a vacation.

Dr. Naomi Black filed the lawsuit this week, claiming the encounter left her feeling traumatized after store employees allegedly mistook her for someone else.

“I was being held against my will,” Black said in an interview with WSB-TV following the lawsuit. “That feeling of hopelessness and helplessness.”
