Family demands independent investigation into 2023 Bullitt County fatal house fire

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – In Bullitt County, dozens packed onto the courthouse lawn and spilled into the street, as families of the victims of a 2023 deadly house fire demanded an independent investigation into the case.

The fire burned a Lebanon Junction house to the ground, killing 6-year-olds Raegan Maraman and Haisley Heath, along with Heath’s mother, 27-year-old Eryn Toogood and her unborn child. The only survivor was Toogood’s boyfriend and Raegan’s father, Billy Maraman. The victims’ families do not believe that either he or the fire was ever fully investigated.

The cause of the fire has been listed as “undetermined” since 2023…
