Hampton man sentenced following federal drug and firearms offenses

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY)- A Hampton man was sentenced to more than five years in prison on drug charges.

According to the Department of Justice, 29-year-old Damion Chesson was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Court documents say Chesson was in the passenger seat of a vehicle during a traffic stop on September 4, 2025. Chesson told law enforcement that he did not have identification and provided a false name and a social security number with an insufficient number of digits.
