A complaint filed with the Wisconsin Ethics Commission on Wednesday alleges Democratic gubernatorial candidate David Crowley violated state campaign finance laws by exceeding contribution limits and accepting illegal lobbyist donations.
The complaint, a copy of which the Cap Times obtained and reviewed, alleges Crowley inappropriately transferred over $142,000 from his county executive campaign account to his state gubernatorial campaign account, and that part of that money came from lobbyists who were not yet allowed to donate to Crowley’s gubernatorial campaign…
