Search underway for violent Kan. felon for attack on a woman

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a domestic-related aggravated battery that occurred early Friday along K-42 Highway and is searching for a suspect.

At approximately 12:18 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to a welfare check involving a woman standing along K-42 Highway between 119th Street West and 135th Street West, according to Sheriff’s Department spokesman Branden Stitt.

When deputies arrived, they learned a 22-year-old Harper County woman had been riding in a vehicle with several acquaintances when a disturbance occurred. During the disturbance, 27-year-old Branndon Joseph Bergman, of Harper County, battered the woman. No weapons were used…
