Our latest round of showers and storms continues to track through the area this morning. Spotty rain stretches from the southwest to the northeast. Even though Northwest Kansas and Southwest Nebraska are drier, reduced visibility could be an issue due to some fog. Fog could also develop in other areas where rainfall has moved out. Several Flood Alerts to the north will be in effect through this morning. Ottawa County will be the exception as a Flood Warning will be in effect through 2am Saturday.
Similar to yesterday, showers could last through midday so it will take most of the morning for the rain to clear out. Clouds will eventually give way to some sun. High temperatures will continue to resemble a late July day. They will be either slightly below or slightly above the norm. However, there will be an uptick in humidity after a couple rounds of rainfall.
A Heat Advisory to the south will go back into effect today. A Heat Advisory to the north and a Extreme Heat Watch to the northeast will go into effect Saturday. Heat Alerts will last all the way through Tuesday. Heat indices could reach as high as 105 to 109. The worst day of this upcoming steamy stretch will be Monday.
Not much rain is expected after today but some moisture will be nearby over the weekend and especially next week. Chances for rain during that time are low and only between 10% to 20%. Any showers and storms will mainly work their way around the Sunflower State, missing most of us but could clip some of our counties at times.
