AUSTIN (KXAN) — After years of declining water levels, Jacob’s Well Natural Area is showing signs of recovery, giving hope that public swimming could return.
According to the Hays County Parks Education Coordinator, Katherine Sturdivant, Jacob’s Well is seeing two cubic feet per second of flow today.
With the heavy amount of rainfall Central Texas has seen this summer, the waterway has had an increase in water levels. Visitors from Houston Azram and Soban say they hope the water levels continue to rise.
“We have been visiting for quite a few years and this is a very nice attraction, you know beautiful colors and it’s good to see it back. I hope we can fill it up a little bit more to enjoy it,” Soban said. “I know we’ve seen people diving in there as well, nobody is diving right now because of the water level, but I’m hoping it can get filled up and preserve some of our nice tourist attractions.”…
