Man survives being run over, dragged hundreds of feet

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A man is left with devastating injuries nearly a month after getting hit by a car, then being dragged several hundred feet. Police say the driver should not have been behind the wheel in the first place.

“He is a family guy. He takes care of everyone,” said Bettina Maldonado-Perez, Jose Perez’s sister-in-law.

45-year-old Jose Perez, or Lobo as his family calls him, is alive and recovering, weeks after being hit by a car and dragged nearly 400 feet.

“On the morning of the fifth, his cousin, who actually works with him. She was looking for him, and she’s, like, telling us that he didn’t show up for work. So that’s not like him, because he loves work. He’s always at work,” said Perez.

After searching for hours, Lobo’s family found his car abandoned in this parking lot near Southwest 44th and May Avenue.“We asked a gentleman if he knew what happened to the person that drove this car, and that’s when he told us that there was an incident outside the bar last night,” said Perez.

The woman police say is responsible is 26-year-old Jennifer Rocha…
