Trash truck driver dumps burning load at fire station

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma City Firefighters battled flames from a trash truck Friday afternoon.

OKC Fire Department said the driver of the trash truck noticed the load he was carrying was burning, so he pulled into Fire Station 31 at Rockwell and Melrose.

The driver then dumped the contents and firefighters got to work.

The firefighters urge residents to not throw away things like lithium-ion batteries, which are notorious for catching fire while getting crushed in trash trucks…
