DES MOINES, Iowa — Electric bicycles may not crash more often than traditional bikes, but new research suggests riders can suffer more serious injuries when accidents occur.
A review of nearly 200 studies published between 2009 and 2024 found no clear evidence that e-bike riders are involved in crashes more frequently than conventional cyclists.
