PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A search is underway for an Idaho man who went missing and is believed to have fallen off Mount Jefferson, authorities said.
On Friday just after 11:30 a.m., Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan said deputies received a 911 call reporting a climber had fallen, according to eyewitnesses.
“The caller relayed a report from two climbers, who stated they witnessed an unknown climber fall down the west side of the summit near the Red Saddle before disappearing from view into the Milk Creek drainage,” the Linn County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. “The climber was described only as a male, possibly wearing a bright red jacket.”…
