2 charged with murder after shooting on DC’s Minnesota Avenue leaves Maryland man dead

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Nearly two weeks after a shooting left a man dead in a Washington, D.C. alleyway, authorities took two men into custody.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced Sunday that officers arrested Abdoulie Jawneh, 25, of Southeast, and Daniel Foxworth, 23, of Suitland, Md., in connection with the July 11 shooting death of Aaron Brown, 28, of Laurel, Md.

Authorities arrested Jawneh on Thursday and arrested Foxworth the following day. Both men were charged with first-degree murder while armed (premeditated).

According to MPD, the investigation began around 9:30 p.m. on July 11, when officers responded to the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue NE for a shooting.

There, police found a man with a gunshot wound in an alleyway. EMS crews took the man to the hospital, where he died…
