CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The National Weather Service issued a severe flash flood warning Sunday afternoon for Charleston County as areas in Mount Pleasant are already flooding from heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
According to the NWS, at 1:17 p.m., trained storm spotters reported flash flooding in Mount Pleasant’s Old Village, with 3 to 4 inches of water covering the roadways. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen.
The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area…
