MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Metropolitan School District is inviting community members to attend a virtual public hearing Thursday evening for the renaming of Cesar Chávez Elementary School.
This comes after the school board voted in April to rename the institution after The New York Times exposé alleged late labor leader of sexually abusing underage girls as well as his co-activist, Dolores Huerta.
The Citizens’ Naming Committee received 76 name proposals during the public submission period and narrowed the list to 16 names for public consideration.
