Man indicted in death of UO student Erick Munene Njue

A Lane County grand jury indicted 20 year-old Angel Gabriel Martinez for the death of University of Oregon Ph.D. candidate Erick Munene Njue.

Martinez was indicted on one count of manslaughter in the second degree for hitting and killing Njue, who was riding his bike along 22nd Avenue and Patterson Street, with his car just after 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 25.

Martinez was also charged with second-degree criminal mischief and reckless endangerment, according to court documents filed on July 22…
