Utility building fire near Happy Valley Park under control amid air quality warning

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Crews are responding to a structure fire at a utility building near Happy Valley Park in Clackamas on Sunday.

Just before noon, the Clackamas Fire Department said they responded to a reported commercial fire at the Happy Valley Public Works operation building.

When firefighters arrived, they found a building containing gasoline, park maintenance equipment, and mowers engulfed in flames. Crews got the fire under control about a half hour later.

After 1 p.m., people who live in the area were sent a public alert message via a reverse 911, alerting the public to stay inside due to smoke and air quality concerns. The affected area includes from 13910 SE Ridgecrest Dr. to 162nd to Sager Road to Hagen Road…
