MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) – On July 4th, we celebrated the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which was, in effect, a declaration of war.
88 years after that war of independence, America was back at war… with itself, and Wisconsin’s connection to the Civil War dates back to the Revolutionary War.
“To understand who we are as Wisconsinites, to understand who we are as Badgers, it all starts with that generation that fought and won independence 250 years ago,” says Chris Kolakowski, the director of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum…
