A sizzling start to the week

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Rodney Price says look for a very warm night across the area with overnight lows in the 70s and 80s. Scorching heat is on tap for Monday with statewide temperatures in the triple digits, with heat index values up around 110 degrees or higher. Please keep hydrated, take breaks from being outside and avoid strenuous activity if at all possible.

Isolated to widely scattered showers and storms will impact northwest Kansas starting Monday night and then over northern Kansas Tuesday. Highs will sizzle with 90s and low 100s. Past midweek, temperatures will begin to back down slightly but it will still be plenty warm for the last few days of July.

Wichita may see a few storms on Thursday but mostly dry and continued hot weather will persist into the first weekend of August with seasonable temperatures in the low to mid 90s…
