6 Years On The Run Comes To An End As 2020 Murder Suspect Is Held Without Bond

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson announced that 34-year-old Dayvon Gordon has been held without bond in connection with the October 2020 fatal shooting of 22-year-old Andre Cox Jr. in Landover.

Gordon is charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime, reckless endangerment, and wearing, carrying and transporting a handgun.

The charges stem from the fatal shooting on Oct. 27, 2020, when officers responded to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue for a reported shooting. Cox was found outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and died a short time later.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Gordon shortly after the homicide, but despite extensive efforts by the Prince George’s County Police Department and its law enforcement partners over several years, he remained at large…
