ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – From morning feedings to first howls for the coyotes, early hours at the zoo bring lots of excitement.
Bree Hitchcock, Alaska Zoo digital learning specialist, said something unique about the Alaska Zoo is one of the creeks runs through some of the enclosures.
“It’s a pretty special creek because it is spring-fed, so it’s supplied by underground water and it’s constantly moving, and therefore it never freezes,” Hitchcock said. “It travels through our brown bear habitat, our moose habitat and it provides them constant year-round water.”…
