LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A severe thunderstorm blew across the Commonwealth on Monday night, bringing daunting gusts of wind that impacted electricity for multiple central and eastern Kentucky counties.
As of 10 a.m. on July 28, there were 7,302 customers across the Bluegrass without power in the wake of the storms, according to the U.S. power outage map. Woodford County alone has seen about a fifth of those outages, with 1,145 customers in the dark.

Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, leaders with Woodford County Emergency Management said “significant progress” in restoration would be made by noon.
According to Kentucky’s power outage map, Blue Grass Energy Cooperative customers saw the brunt of the impact, with 3,807 customers out compared to 1,626 Kentucky Utilities customers still in need of restoration.
