HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Overnight full closures of Interstate 64 west in Hampton are scheduled to begin as early as Wednesday, July 29, for utility work. These closures, implemented by contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation, are part of the Hampton Roads Express Lanes (HREL) Hampton Segment Project.
The affected section of the interstate will be from Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road to North Armistead Avenue.
The closures are scheduled from 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. each night, from Wednesday, July 29, through Friday, July 31. This work is necessary for the removal of utility poles as part of the larger express lanes project…
