Syracuse-area medical tech business is laying off workers, moving manufacturing out of town

Cicero, N.Y. — Jadak Technologies employed roughly 130 people in Cicero when it was sold to a Massachusetts company more than a decade ago.

Now, its current owner, Novanta Corp., plans to move manufacturing work elsewhere and lay off 49 of the 80 employees still working there.

The layoffs are scheduled to begin March 31 and to be completed two weeks later, according to a notice filed with the state Department of Labor. The workers are not represented by a union…
