GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — With less than a month to go, crews are already hard at work, preparing for gates to open for The Great New York State Fair! Over the next few weeks, the fairgrounds will transform into a bustling destination for hundreds of thousands to enjoy for 13 days.
The state’s fair director, Julie LaFave, said their maintenance team will roll out all the picnic tables across the grounds, wash out the trash cans, and handle a host of behind-the-scenes tasks before visitors arrive, “doing all the things that you don’t even realize have to take place in order for this fair to exist.”
