Phase one of the Miller Brothers project is expected to wrap up in August, allowing the city’s fire mechanics to move from Marsh Street into the new facility.
City leaders said that clears the way for phase two, the construction of Erie’s new emergency operations command center at the former Miller Bros Power Equipment company on 21st and State streets.
Safety project on Interstates 79, 80 to start soon
“We can get everybody together that needs to get together to coordinate a response. An emergency response, recovery, damage assessment, all those things. So, we’ll have a center where we have radio capabilities to talk to one another,” City of Erie Fire Chief Leonard Trott said.
