ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — West Michigan’s NorthStar Cinemas, which has theaters near Rockford and Whitehall, is shutting down in the face of lower attendance and higher costs.
An exact closing date has not yet been set, but the goal is to stay open until about Aug. 20, owner Nick Wallace told News 8.

In a phone interview Tuesday, Wallace explained that “a number of different factors” contributed to the decision to close. He cited increases in the minimum wage and a drop in ticket sales.
